Brisbane

Brisbane, the vibrant capital city of Queensland, is midway up the east coast of Australia. An 'up and coming' city, Brisbane is renowned for its sun and the brash, flashy hordes that follow it. The city is also known as a cultural due to the large number of theatres, cinemas, concert halls, galleries and museums.

The cultural hub is the Queensland Cultural Centre adjacent to South Bank on the Brisbane River. By day explore the Queensland Museum or appreciate artwork at the Queensland Art Gallery. At night, return to the dress circles of the Performing Arts Centre's four venues

Brisbane has a relaxed sub-tropical flair and offers world-class beaches, river, rainforest and mountain experiences. There are also outdoor markets operating around the city every weekend, providing a colourful day out for locals and visitors.

With a wide range of landscapes and lifestyles, the inner-city, metropolitan Brisbane is surrounded by leafy and sometimes very hilly, suburbs. Further out in the suburbs, the traditional Australian house on a large block or even acreage dominates.
