There are a wide variety of ways to travel across Australia. You could hitch hike, hire a car, catch a bus, train or get a plane. Some companies specialise in backpacking holidays but if you are doing a lot of travelling, it might be more cost-effective to buy a cheap car, and sell it when you leave.
